Hi Wendetg went to Santa Maria for lunch today. Outside patio area stillup spoke to Rob and nothing sorted still yet. but the restaurant next door La Palma? have put up a fitted BBQ at the end of their patio area so hopefully they are here to stay.

Thanks Fudgey. Can't wait until July when I am next out. Let us hope the council have seen sense and realised that the bars need their outside areas.
It would be great if they put in the new promenade and we can enjoy it from the patio area of the Santa Maria.
Did you happen to notice whether the nearby bars that were empty have been sold or rented out yet?

I really hope they get to keep the outside patio areas lovely sitting there at lunchtimes having lunch, Not been in the evening as live other side of Torrevieja so only go in the afternoons every so often. The restaurant on the end next to the Santa Maria is open but was probably already open when you were last out.

Cheers Fudgey. I appreciate the updates. Shame that Ranchos and 103 still closed. I have enjoyed a few evenings at Ranchos. Alan, Val and family, who ran it for a while made me feel very welcome when I was out on my own.
Do you ever call into the George Pub, about 100 metres from there along main road? Probably not, as I think George only opens in evenings during winter months and you don't live nearby. If you do, say hello from Wende.

Hello to everybody,
Last October (200 we ate in Rancho's and things seemed ok except the young girl, the daughter i think was thinking of returning to England (god knows why) and at the time Bar 103 was still open, the english people who worked hard at the job, again we found the food up to the mark so, does anybody know why both places have closed down surely not because of the new prom prospect?

Sorry don´t know why Ranchos and 103 closed maybe due to being to quiet here over the winter also doesn´t really help that they are fairly hidden away. The bars are still closed and noticed the other day one of the windows in one of the bars was smashed can´t remember which one it was.

Still no change with the outside areas which are still up hopefully this means the town hall have had a change of heart and decide to keep them.

Torreterry think it must have been 2007 you were here. Oct 2008 not here yet unless you have a time machine in which case can you let me have next weeks lottery numbers thanks LOL

Ranchos & Bar 103

I was also out last October and at the time just Kerry and her partner were planning on returning to England however by the time I was there at Christmas they had all returned to England.
Having run a bar in Spain I know how difficult it can be and there are plenty of people who fail to last beyond a year. The reality is much harder than it appears to be.
