As you will aware from the local media both Non-Spanish and Spanish the campaign is underway.
If you would like to look at this link Vertidos ilegales en Orihuela. Informacin _mk_
these are some of the pictures that members of the public have sent to Los verdes (The Green Party) of Orihuela highlighting the problem that is surrounding us all in Orihuela Costa and the rest of the municipality.
If you haven't sent in your photographs yet please do, with location details to losverdesorihuela@yahoo.es .
The PP council is aware of the campaign and is starting to clean up the areas before we can shame them.

Campaign update
Following the launch of the ‘No More Fly-tipping – Clean up the Costa’ campaign, Los Verdes have received information and photograph contributions from British, German, Danish, and Spanish residents.
Having collated the information received, up to 16th April 2008, a list has been compiled of 30 sites in Orihuela Costa where contributors have reported that Fly-tipping has taken place.
The response from the general public has highlighted, and confirmed, how large the problem of fly-tipping is in Orihuela Costa.
This list, supported with photographs, was presented to the PP Councillor for the Coast, José A. Aniorte Grau, at a meeting on Thursday 17th April, at which Los Verdes (The Green Party) of Orihuela were represented by Councillor for the Coast, Monserrate Guillén, supported by members of the Orihuela Costa working group.
The result of the meeting was that the Los Verdes representatives were assured by Councillor Aniorte on behalf of the ruling PP Council, that all the sites on the list, that are on public land, will be cleaned up within a period of three weeks from the 17th April 2008, but that there are no Council Byelaws (Ordenanza Municipal) in existence within the municipality to be able to ensure a clean up of fly-tipping on private property at this time.
The ridiculous situation that there are no Byelaws in relation to the management of the problem of Fly-tipping is unacceptable.
Los Verdes will continue to push the PP controlled Council to draw up and present to the Pleno (Council Meeting) for approval, the required Byelaws. This failure by the PP, who have been in control of the Council for the past 20 years or so, must be rectified without delay.
It cannot yet be claimed that this initial part of the campaign is a success, as we must wait to see if the promised clean-up of Orihuela Costa actually takes place.
Los Verdes are only too aware of the PP ruled Council’s record of failing to keep its promises, as it has done with the failure to close the illegal rubbish tip in PAU 26, alongside the AP7 and next to the Entré Golf urbanisation, even though it said it would in an official Council letter dated 25th September 2007.
I would ask that we all continue to be vigilant in monitoring the Fly-tipping problem and inform Los Verdes (The Green Party) of Orihuela) of any new tip sites that you become aware of via email to losverdesorihuela@yahoo.es .
