WHERE ARE WE?

Help please - this may sound like a really stupid question but.....we originally bought at Los Balcones -I wont bore you with the details! We have now re-located to Macarena iv Las Filipinas, Colinas De Puerta Real IV, Colinas De La Pinada which is just virtually over the road from Bosque De Las Lomas.
Has anyone bought near us. People ask where we are and all I know is we're about 15 mins away from the Villa Martine golf course.

Anyone out there know where we are (i.e. how far from Torrevieja/nearest beach etc., etc) and anyone near us please. We're only in a small complex of 12 apartments down a road which is already complete, with approx 8/10 villas behind us, round the corner from the Irish bar on the corner.

I know its a stupid question but we were so distraught on our 2nd visit.......!

Do you know the name of the Irish bar on the corner? People may recognise that more than the other names!

We have just bought at Bosque de las Lomas III, is the Irish bar called The Priory,also on the same commercial centre is there a camm bank,air con shop, Indian and English bar/cafe. If so you have bought near us. It is about 10 mins in the car to Torrevieja and approx 5 mins to La Zenia beach. 25 mins to Murcia airport, approx 60 mins to Alicante. Hope this is some help.

AM - bingo that sounds like it - at Bosque de la Lomas they had a hotel which was going to be part of the complex???? Sounds very very much like it - there's a shop (English owned) selling newspapers, general store on some wasteland to the left of Bosque de la Lomas?

The commercial centre is classified as blue lagoon i presume, as cam bank is our local bank and their address is blue lagoon. The only thing is that you cross the road and you could be in el galan or las filipinas which my wife finds amussing for some reason We took possession of our house in jan but lots of work still to be completed on site

Think thats whats confused me - I can find Las Filipinas on the map but the address seems to be Colinas De Puerta & Colinas De La Pinada.
Are you in your apartment/villa and happy with the location/area?

Only sign in jan, back out again this week. Builders a bit slow on finishing touches but we're ok with that. We didn't buy off plan and glad about that, the house was built when we decided to buy so it all happened relatively quickly. when we reflect on the location etc we are well happy with what we have got, although we've not spent any amount of time there yet. What about yours?

I think you did the right thing buying virtually built. I dont think I would ever buy off plan again. We have been through the mill along with so many other people, it has tarnished the dream a bit. BUT I do believe work is progressing well with the 2nd choice we had to make and if all goes well, it is planned to be finished July/August of this year, though will probably be a few months late as I believe that is the norm.

We had originally bought at Los Balcones but with the problems on the original site, we flew out last November to choose something else. 2nd choice does seem like a nice location.

Which property have you bought, we have gone for the Sara Triana top floor - just hope we have a decent view - we got into trouble climbing up concrete stair cases when we went out in November, just so we could see which apartment gave the beest view!

Its nice to speak to someone who is going to be a 'neighbour'. Location wise, are you near the new hotel they are building for Bosque de la Lomas?

Riding on from the last note, could I be really cheeky, if you are going out soon, could you go and have a look at the build of our apartment. Where the Irish bar is on the corner, we are the next road along on the left hand side. 12 apartments with approx 8/10 villas behind us. I know its so cheeky but would be so grateful if you could. In November they had got upto doing the underground car park with the necessary steelwork etc. on top.

We have just completed on Bosque de las lomas III. Have just been over for a week to get everything ready i.e furniture etc. We are just over the road from the new hotel complex. The site hasn't changed much over the last few weeks, they are very slow!!! We went into the irish pub a few times, (the priory) they have live music every night, some good some not so good! I think it will be a very nice area once it's all completed, but this could be some time!! There seems to be quite a few people moving in this week which can only mean good news, perhaps they'll crack on and get some more things finished off!

I know settling for so called 'second best' disheartens you but you have a nice location. We looked at a good few properties and still went for that area the only downside is that you really need transport to the beach but our budget would not stretch to a beachside location. Have you been on tech urb's website if not try www.tecnourbana.com/eng/promo_macarena.html our house is only just out of picture in the top right hand corner. It's a colinas (battenberg coloured house).I'll pop up and have a look, i'm taking camera so if pictures come out ok i'll email them you. Not sure if it is going to be an hotel we was under the impression that it is going to be like some kind of reception area with jacuzzi and gym etc so you should be able to use the facilities available.Going back out again at easter so if your not there before i'll have another nose around.

Many thanks for your posts - I really do appreciate it as I'm now getting a better picture. AM really do appreciate that you will go and have a look at the property. Only thing I am a little concerned about the irish bar being on the corner is the noise coming from it!! We too would have liked a beachside location but again, the price would have reflected same, however, having said that, I am sure Los Balcones wasnt too close to the beach either but the view was something else. However, no one knows what would have been built in front of us anyway. Also there's talk of a dual carriageway now in front of Los Balcones so maybe its for the best. We can see the sea from the roof terrace, as long as you arm yourselves with some pretty strong binoculars and stand on the highest wall!!! I'm sure Bobby, our rep, told us that in the summer there is a bus which goes to and from Torrevieja,beaches etc.

Love to hear any updates from anyone in the area and of course when we go out, we';; be more than happy to do same for anyone else.
