Can anyone help with confirmation of Bank holidays. I pulled something of the net that says the following are Bank Hols in 2005. Jan 6th, Feb 28th, March 25th, October 12th, November 1st, December 8th & 25th. I thought there were some in May last year. The above only makes 8 days I thought they had more in Spain. We dont want to come over and find the shops shut for days when we are trying to sort thing out.

1st May is labour day so shops might be shut on 2nd May. According to my kids school diary thats it for this year but you never know they may throw in a Saints day here and there!!!

National bank holidays with fixed dates are:
1st Jan, 6th Jan, 1st May, 15th August, 12th October, 1st November, 6th Dec, 8th Dec. 24th Dec. 25th Dec.
Good Friday is also a national bank holiday.
In the Valencian Community 19th March is a holiday and 9th October, whilst in Murcia 9th June is a holiday.
Sometimes additional days are decreed, at the discretion of regional governments, and there are also local saints days in different towns.

Thanks for confirming that guys. Jayne, I did notice when I had a look on your web site (excellent I may get hubby to start learning a bit of Spanish now) that Labour day was on 1st May. It is important for us on this visit to go shopping for stuff that we didnt manage to sort when we came over earlier this month to complete, so we are hoping that the shops will be open on Monday 2nd as we are only over 5 days and that includes travelling days.Comentario

On the whole the Spanish stick strictly to dates so you should be alright. However, it's impossible to guarantee that they won't decide to take Monday 2nd May off. Sorry!
