graffiti

i am amazed by the amount of graffiti i have seen around torrevieja and indeed throughout spain. spain has got a massive graffiti problem in my opinion and i think it makes what is a nice place, a bit scruffy. do they not bother to have the graffiti removed, or do hotels, banks, businesses think its a waste of time having it removed, as they will come back and do them again ??
just wondered what everyone else thought ?

ok further to this, i am looking into starting a business, in graffiti removal.
does anyone think this is a good idea, or a waste of time ???

Hi Villawagen,
It was the one thing apart form the dog poop on the pavements that nearly put me off buying in Town,
One problem seems to be that the council will not remove grafitti from private buildings ,so if you approach the cleaning firms that inturn look after the buildings you might be onto a winner.Direct approach is needed.Find out if there is a market.
It must be a culture thing we seem to notice it more than most. If I am over when we have a meeting at the Edifico where I have a home, it is something I want to bring up ,if it happens ,a strike first rule to get it cleaned off straight away.

thanks for the reply archiebake, didnt really know what peoples thoughts on this subject where. i noticed it streight away when i first came over. seemed like people sort of turned a blind eye to it, and exepted it as the norm. i am pretty sure a bank or corporate business would rather not want political, or non political graffiti sprawled all over its otherwise professional building, and would be willing to pay to have it removed and keep it removed. if so i would be supprised that there is nobody else doing it ?
