Four questions...

Am coming to Torrevieja in two weeks and am getting mixed reports regarding the state of the courses, particularly Campoamor. They officially say the fairways are "patchy" and that two of them are half their width.

Question 1...Can anyone please confirm the condition of this course for me before I commit to booking?

Question 2...Can anyone tell me the current green fees for La Finca as this information is not on their website?

Question 3...How is the weather locally at the moment? Outlook for the nex two weeks or so?

Question 4...Has anyone been on the new ride at Terramitica (the gyroscope one) Is it as bad (good) as it looks?

I can answer 2 of your questions.

1) I played Campoamor a week ago and can confirm that it's in very poor condition. The faiways are very patchy with not a lot of grass in places. I always felt in the past that he greens were the saving grace of the course but alas these also are in bad condition. However for 42 Euros this has to be the cheapest coursee around.

2) The green fee at La Finca is 75 Euros and worth it in my opinion. Currently the fairways are looking very brown, I am told that this is because the grass is dormant at the moment.

Alenda is worth a try, the greens are like lightning.

If you check "classified ads" on this site and go to "leisure" there is a local golf tour company, contact them and they will give you all the up todate info and advice.

I prefer to get the views on people who actually play the courses and not someone trying to make a few euros in the process. There's no better and honest recommendation than that you receive by locals, players, etc. Thanks for the advice though!

Best course in the area a month ago was Alicante. They were doing a deal for 55euro golf,buggie and snack. Good fairways and great greens.
Campoamor is awful, waste of 42euro. Better off at Las Ramblas 45euro though take plenty balls. Tough course but good for a laugh.
Mossa Trajectum is a great course but like La Finca a bit higher green fee.
I played La Finca a couple of weeks ago and the fairways are brown but still OK. They needed some rain.
Bonalba was OK a couple of months ago.
Alenda has fast greens but the fairways are not as good as 18 moth ago.

The ad in the Torrevieja.com "classified adds" is a small family run business based in Torrevieja and they not only organise but play courses regularly weekly.
Although they bring groups over from the UK they also do a lot of local organising , bringing local lone ex-pat players together to make up 4 balls etc.
Asking them for advice costs nothing ( not even a euro ).
