fiscal representation
our solicitor asked for e180 for this service but I have declined to do this (may have been a bit hasty!!). Unsure what this service entails and would appeciate anyone filling in the blanks. I anticipated it would encompass paying water and electricity which bearing in mind we are still on builders supply would be unecessary for the time being. the other thing is the taxes - does anyone know how soon after completion these start to come through - is it payable monthly, annually or what?
what is the role of a gestor?
any guidance appreciated.

gestor vs fiscal representative
thanks for reply.
what is a gestor? what different role do they do from a fiscal representative.
also do you know when taxes are due - would it be a year from now? does the community of owners have to be up and running? do i have to have my deeds back from madrid? (I am trying to work out whether, having only just taken possession and CofE being months off yet I need to sort this out now or am I being premature)

Hi Lizzy.
I bought a resale (that had never been occupied) on an urbanisation in January 2004. The property was built in 2003. I have been told that I'm not liable for any taxes until later this year when I will have to pay wealth tax, renta, and IBI. I have been told by others on the community that SUMA bills have never been issued to date, and as such do not need to be paid up until the point at which the authorities issue the first bills. The first bill can only be for the previous year - they cannot go back to the inception of the community.
If you are coompleting (or have completed) this year, you should not become liable to pay anything until 2006. Plenty of time to find a good Gestor.
Best of luck,
Chris.
