    Non- resident Cert

Hi - I've just had this fee paid from my account, it was for €20.00 plus €3.20 tax. The fact that you've been charged twice could be either a mistake by the bank or perhaps they've taken last years as well (did you pay last year?)

Either way you will need to check with the bank or your fiscal advisor to clarify what's happened,

    Hope this helps - Tim.

      Non residnet fee

If you are a joint owner of a property (husband / wife - partner) , maybe this is a fee for each of your taxes. One for each direct debit / credit transfer?? Joe

        Non-residents certificate

If you are joint owner of your property with a partner or wife you will be charged twice. This fee is payable every two years and would normally be taken out by the bank without notification. I am with Cambank and they charged me €17.00 recently for me and the same for my wife therefore the cost was €34.00

Thats Spain its different here! My bank (Caja Murcia) has a good internet system where you can download a separate statement for each payment.

I feel that my money in my Spanish Bank Account (Bankinter) belongs to them!! They are forever helping themselves to pay for commission and fees for debit cards (which I dont even have!) first I know about it is when I receive my monthly statement which could be nearly 4 weeks after they have taken the money!!

If you havent got any debit or credit cards, That cant charge you for them. You most likely do have them but if you dont use them (ie they are laying in you branch waiting for you to collect them) then you can cancel them and stop paying for them. Many banks in spain issue you a debit mastercard when you open your account. so alot of foreigners (read non spanish speakers) dont realise that they actually do have a card and is paying for it. But in order for any bank or credit card company, to issue a card you MUST sign a contract.

My best advice on this one is - change to Halifax or Barclays where it is all in English!

I am not a anti Spanish person but as far as banking is concerned Spain has a lot to learn from us.

                    Hi
bankinter have a very useful on line facility which you can view your accounts and debits that are taken out. We only use this account for all regular direct debits and mortgage payments.
                    https://www.bankinter.com/www/en-es/...tractointegral
but you need to set that facility up, whether it can be done by telephone or not I'm not sure. You can go into the branch and they will set you going.
Regarding fees its almost certain that joint accounts deem double cost, I think its 17.50 euros each per year or every other year. We handed back our debit cards and only use Halifax for regular spending over here as the cards are free of charge as long as we keep 600 euros in the account
