  • think there would be demand? car valeting...

    Hi,

i am i high end car valeter on a part time basis, one reason or another i'm totally fed up with the UK, and am planning a move to spain, probably sooner rather than later.

do you think there would be demand for an english speaking mobile car valeter? I offer anything from a basic wash. Hoover and polish, to total detail, all aspects of the car. i specialise in Alfa Romeo, Ferrari and maserati, as well as classic and sports cars. prices would be from €50 upwards.

i can come to you, set up a gazebo, and detail your car to whatever level you want.

reckon this would work around torrevieja / alicante?

There are some mobile valet's here, I think they are mostly the waterless type as I believe it is illegal to wash cars on the roads here, so may not be too easy to make a living....sorry

There are not a lot of Alfa Romeo, Ferrari and Maserati cars either.

People just don't seem to take pride in their cars here, they get damaged so often it just isn't worth bothering with.

With all the legal stuff and money involved with being LEGALLY self employed, I wouldn't think you could make a living out of it.

Maybe some but typically people do it themselves Uk style ie with hoover and bucket or they go Spanish and hit the car washes (2 euros) and the high power hoovers at Carrefour/Fue vert - dont expect to become a millionaire. Also there may be some issues about using water - rules are different here cos we have not got much!!

okay, so we can scratch that idea then..

how does a UK vocational driving license work in spain? i have a class C HGV license, and am planning on doing the PCV license, i'd love to drive coaches either between england and spain, or doing airport transfers from alicante..

As a residenty and working here you will need to validate them, to a spanish license.
A normal license is just a straight forward swap. and they charge you a small fee for that. Possibly the same with other licenses.
