Your offset dish should have elevation marks on it, which needs to be set to 36.7 (ie, 37) degrees and the dish needs to point 28 deg East of South. I have a small satellite finder box that gives an audio signal when the satellite is found, and then it's a case of fine tuning. Then your Humax will auto install. I'm quite willing to give you a hand if you'll pay my diesel (and you're not too far away from Los Altos !!!

Thanks for that EBT thats really kind of you, we have been speaking to others and Nortons do seem to have a good reputation. We are going over to the UK soon so may be ablè to pick up a box from Argos and get the Sky freeview card card whilst we are there, really appreciate your info. BA27

Bluealaska, you might be a bit confused. You do not need any cards for the Freesat system. Once you have bought the box, that pays the subscription. It is all free from there. My Humax HD Freesat box works in Freesat and Non-Freesat mode and literally picks up hundreds of channels. Of course, I cannot view the scrambled sky channels.

Incidentally, I got our Humax Freesat boxes from ebay from a UK business seller, who sent them over by DHL for just over £160 each including shipping & insurance (probably works out a bit dearer for just one box).

If anyone wants the seller's details, let me know.

Itv2 in the morning at 1130 and also again at around 7 in the evening but sometimes the evening one is changed for some reason. She is one of my heros, love her sense of humour, she takes no prisoners literally !! That must make me a poor cow too????

Buy a Technomate receiver, 5200usb or the super version - alsat.co.uk.
Get it patched - alsat.co.uk
Buy a motorised dish to access all satellites from 30deg.west to 30deg.east.
Sit back and enjoy hundreds of channels (many english speaking).
I reckon you can get all this for 200 smackers.
Don't waste your money on anything else.
If you like films - stacks of them.
If you like football - spoilt for choice.
You'll not get BBC1 or 2, ITV or ch4/5.
You'll get BBC Prime, Knowledge, Entertainment, Lifestyle.
I know what I'm talking about - I've done it.

I was loath to join this discussion as there is always some idiot on any forum in the world whose opinion is far superior to anyone elses. For your information I would prefer that your moderate your language, swearing or using abbreviations to swear words usually means that you cannot express yourself properly without using expletives and also I am not from Great Britain so don't assume ( it makes an ass of you and me ) that I am. Can I suggest you use Torrevieja.co.uk as the abuse is virtually non existant on there, the administrator and moderator of this site are useless, anyone who asks them to stop the abuse has their posting removed. I find this surprising as this was one of the first ex pat forums I came accross 8 years ago, but you don't need to correspond with people who have such a limited vocabulary and nothing of interest to say! You can get some very useful information on the other site particularly from satguy.
By the way I run a forum for our urbanisation and you can stop people like this with a click of a button!
