I know its early, but nothing wrong in planning ahead. We have always used calor heaters rather than the air con during the winter but are fed up with the damp that these cause. We spend a fortune on humidifiers etc. Anyway, this year we have decided to go for radiators. We have seen some -BOSCH. Only a small flat so decided we would get 1000w and 500w. Does anyone have any thoughts on these or experience of others which have proved to be efficient?

Had some rads fitted in uk ,gel filled ,with a thermostat and a timer fitted to rad ,you also got a remote control like a telly zapper so you could set each one independently ,the guy who fitted them said they were french ,i think the name on them was Kalieel might need to go on a french site to find them ,unless there,s some french who use this site ,worked out cheaper than the gas c/heatingOriginalmente publicado por Brindleboy123 Ver MensajeI know its early, but nothing wrong in planning ahead. We have a radiator in the bathroom which I use to make it warm before we have our showers/bath and it helps with condensation from the hot water, otherwise the tiled walls are quiet wet after 40 mins, even with the extractor going. We also found that aircon wasn't that much extra on our bills and so much easier than the gas heaters and nicer looking than the radiators plus the fact you can use it in the summer for keeping cool.Originalmente publicado por Nalle Ver MensajeI think the the A/C would be cheaper than any radiators. I binned all our radiators a few years ago when we installed A/C and our bill went down.
But you can always ask in the shop of course

You could always go eco friendly we have a bio fire which burns wheat oil no fumes no smoke just plain heat we brought it over from the UK it was not cheap to buy but is very cheap to run a litre of wheat oil is around 4 euors and depending on the ambient temperature of your room lasts up to 6 hours. I have never had it on even in the cold old UK for more than 1 hour a night have a look at planika.com they have outlets in Spain and you can buy the oil here too

Why not use your aircon unit? We did last year it was bril and we had no damp at all. It takes the moisture out of the air. If you have aircon in why waste money on anything elseOriginalmente publicado por Brindleboy123 Ver MensajeI know its early, but nothing wrong in planning ahead. In answer to Chrisdee no condensation no smell no fumes it was absolutley brilliantin the UK last winter as it has a naked flame as would a fire ours is very modern but you can get traditional looking ones too it is not designed as a primary source of heat but you could fool me it did the job so I'll be trying it in Spain this year
