I think if you want to claim off your insurance you need to report it as you have to show the police report to the insurance company ?? Obviously if it's something small that's been stolen from the garden then I think some people think it's not worth the bother, especially if they don't speak good enough Spanish and have to hire an interpretor. Lets hope we never have to go through it.

Lies? What lies? Yes there are statistics, I haven't made them up. Fact is that UK has one of the worst crime rates in EU. That is a fact.

My wife and daughter feel safer here than in the UK. We live in Quesada and never (touch wood) had any problems.

As I said. I have no doubt that Torrevieja is worse than a lot of areas in the UK. The same as a lot of areas in the UK are worse than Torrevieja.
Overall. Im sure that the UK is worse than Spain. The population density is the UK is much higher than Spain (half the size and almost double the population) and we all know that most crimes occurs in highly populated areas.
