Thanks again. With regard to Telmicro we have twice this year waited for them to get their act together and here we are again with no tv and no confirmed date for reconnection. Certainly where we are people are leaving them in droves mainly because there is no reliable information re the actual problem but if they survive this I think they will be very lucky. If Torresat are still broadcasting why aren't Telmicro they were doing nothing different.

Anyway we have had enough and intend to look for another provider but not Torresat who we have found unreliable in the past.

I'd still like to hear from anyone who has a satellite system in place and can recommend someone.
    I have a 1.9m dish installed (in a concrete base), pointing at Astra/Eurobird 28E.
The dish came from waste ground so all I had to buy was an LNB. I did the concreting in myself.
The installers (German, but speak English) are located in the street facing the windmill in Torre and are called Top Sat. The installer is called Richard (I think!) and he comes equipped with a proper satellite analyzer so you're guaranteed to get the best from your dish.
Together with the LNB it cost me about 100 euros, last year.

Nevertheless, a 2.4m dish is necessary to pick up the BBC, ITV, Film4 etc. at all times. With my set up, I can only get it during the day, and not always perfect (some pixelation). I'm told that even with a 2.4m dish, you will not get BBC or CH4.

      satellite installations

I live on an urbanization in los montesinos, the urbanization has 16 seperate communities with their own president and commitee, we are in the process of installing LEGAL free to air satellite equipment at each community to allow all residents and holiday lets to connect up with the installation which will never been turned off as the satellite dish will be pointed direct at the Astra Satellite and not pointed towards a hotel on the coast which is re-transmitting the signals just like Telmicro and Torresat, if the hotel is told ( and some have been already ) to stop transmitting the signals then you once again will be switched off with no notice.

Our installation will be a collective one off payment from each community with no monthly subscriptions.

If you would like more information you can call Filipe or Martin on 630839793 or 679792949

      Kind regards

There are several options including SKY & FREESAT The new sky HD boxes do allow you to watch some channels in HD for FREE, this is paticularily handy when using a 1.4 dish where you need a bit of help after 8pm with BBC1 as you can use BBC HD One.
