What is it with women and greetings cards?
You can buy her the most expensive birthday present but forget the birthday card and you may as well have not bothered.
These stupid bits of very overpriced paper then get thrown in the bin the next day!
We now have mothers day, fathers day, grandmothers day and, I don´t doubt, happy anniversary of passing your driving test.............!!
They can´t all have shares in the card companies so is it just a part of that mysterious female attraction or just plain idiocy?

I agree that cards can be very expensive but I admit I prefer a well chosen card,i.e. one that has words that are appropriate more than a present. I also love to read what has been handwritten. It wouldn't bother me if the card was handmade- perhaps even better as more thought gone in to it. Nowadays I think money is often evenly distributed between couples so we can go and buy things when as and when we want (funds willing), but a card is something quite different.
