How can Telmicro broadcast Sky News? Isn't that part of the Sky that's meant to be illegal. Surely they wouldn't be broadcasting it if it was?
Or is that part of freeview.

What's that got to do with the price of bread? Sorry, yes, you are saying it's freeview

Sky News is 'free to air'. There are no restrictions imposed on it. I receive it via my dish as a FTA channel. Many other news channels are the same.

mick94 - don't know about you but i'm not being charged anything. you aren't either if you're a telmicro customer. Update on telmicro's website:

                Latest
                05.09.2008
Telmicro is broadcasting again! Customers in areas covered by the Montesinos, La Mata and Crevillente transmitters are receiving some channels. Our technical staff are working to restore the signal to other areas as quickly as possible.

We have been given permission to restart broadcasting. To begin with, it is a restricted service comprising of some of the channels that the company has contracted to retransmit. Telmicro's clients have got to know these channels very well over the last year, such as MGM, Cinestar, XTRM Film Channel, Sci-Fi, Calle 13, Fox, National Geographic and many others. In addition, we will be showing some of the Spanish terrestrial programs.

We do not have more information regarding specific TV channels at this time.

Telmicro will only show contracted channels and will continue to search for legally available English channels of interest to our customers to contract in the future.

Telmicro will not make any charges to their customers for a month after the service has been resumed in their area. The second month will be half price and thereafter the monthly charges will be at a reduced rate. For those that have paid for viewing in advance, this reduction will be applied as extension to their current contract.

It maybe "free to air" but you either pay for a dish to receive the signal or you pay Telmicro to cable it to you .

Muggings here paid their yearly fee on the Friday when it was cut off on the Tuesday, and I paid it a month earlier than I should have (because of the free month). Should ask for a refund and then pay by DD but think I've got less chance of that than a snowball in hell. And I thought I was saving a couple of euros, oh well. Live and learn.
