Has anyone visited Denia if so what did you think Hotels,Restaurants etc also is there anywhere my OH could do a bit of fishing not from a boat but from the rocks etc. Thinking of somewhere to go for our 30 year wedding anniversary ( god I would have got a lesser sentence if Id commited murder)

The old town is lovely and there are lovely Spanish restaurants in town. We have stayed at the hotel called La Posada del Mar a few times and it is beautiful. Ask for a room overlooking the sea. It's opposite the harbour - I believe it used to be the old Customs house. We had some of the nicest food at a restaurant just along the sea front. As you come out of the main entrance of the hotel turn left and walk about 100 meters, and you'll find several lovely places. I can't remember the name of the restaurant, but it was tucked in the corner and its very very small indeed - but great food (Spanish) and lovely staff.

Been there many times as Lotte says it is vey pictureque I just love the harbour area you can walk all around it most of the sea front restaurants do good food a bit dearer than around here. Don't know about fishing why not have a look at their tourist website

Thank you for your replies the website is very informative,we prefer self catering so have booked in at the ogiska garden apartments am really looking forward to it since reading your reviews.

Just make sure you ask for/request a renovated apartment - our friends stayed there earlier this year and got a very very "tired" apartment, and it wasn't nice at all. Make sure you mention it is your wedding anniversary as I am sure you have more of a chance then ;o)
