I'm Confused about TV reception

I'm sure I've seen threads which say that if I brought my TV over from UK, I would be able to receive a picture but no sound. I've also seen that if I connect this UK type TV through some other device it will work OK. Assuming that to receive BBC, ITV etc, I would need a digi-box of some kind. Can some-one clarify things for me as to what will work and how .
The reason I'm asking this question is that I would like to purchase an LCD type TV in UK and bring it with me as they seem to be quite expensive in Spain.

If you ask me, you bether buy your LCD-tv in Spain. (also in case you need servicing, repair)
Check with torregrossa in Torrevieja (on the other side of the church) and ask for Roberto (he speaks english). I've seen LCD-tv's for under 500 euro's.
