  • Keeping a 5 and 8 yr old entertained.

We are in the process of purchasing a place on La Finca and need help in finding things to do in the area for a 5 and 8 year old when we come out on holiday. They are not great beach lovers so we are looking for alternatives.

Any suggestions would be appreciated as we do not know this area at all.

    Thanks

The Park of Nations just off the N332 in Torrevieja is nice for an afternoon, there is a small children's park there and a (very) mini-zoo of reptiles and birds.

Opposite this, at the top of Calle Madrid there is an indoor play area called "Indiana Bill".

If you travel out to Santa Pola there is a small "safari park" called Rio Safari. It's very good for small children, although some people feel the animals aren't as well cared for as they could be.

La Finca is near algorfe (I think that is how you spell it). So Torre is the nearest main town area for us.

Thank you all for your suggestions so far, keep them coming.

North of Torreveieja (5 minutes drive from Carre Four) around the La Siesta urb. is a small 'ish aqua park (Flamingo) that is very clean, exceptionally well supervised and fairly good value for money. My lad has being going there from age 4, will be 8 this year and can't get enough of it. Pools range from one 0-2ft deep with kids slides. Couple of adult flumes. Couple of jaccuzi's and 2 'regular' pools all seperated and all with their own lifeguards/supervisors. Worth a look.

Nice park in Guadamar - cool in the Summer

Bowling (with it's games arcade attached) is always a favourite and not too busy early afternoon when they seem to be most bored. Get's busy at night.

The fair in Torrevieja down by the port in the evenings is great for the 5-10 year olds they can go on virtually everything and though I hate to do it, if they're struggling with the cuisine the dreaded Burger King is just around the corner.
