I have been denied access to post on this thread so I will put a reply on hereSUMA is the name of the office set up in the Alicante region to collect taxes the only tax they don't deal with is car tax you have to go to Trafico in Alicante that goes for people who live anywhere in the Alicante region it is not the tax
there are 48 offices and you can pay in anyone the only areas where you have to go direct to the town hall are Elche & Alicante so if you live there that is where you have to go
Your IBI which is the name of the tax is payable yearly by the person who owned the house on 1st of January
If you bought the house on say feb 2nd the person from whom you bought the house is liable that may be the reason you say it is only payable after 2 years.
No i am no expert but I did attend a meeting in San Miguel a couple of weeks ago on this subject.
If you move out of the Alicante region you will not find SUMA anywhere else and will have to pay direct to the townhall
Hope this helps
