Yes apparently its true according to the other co.uk site via the old telmicro system they are able to pick up about 12 channels its picking up another rebroadcaster either torresat or astrosat, unfortunately it won't last but people can enjoy it while it does.

So Telmicro is NOT back broadcasting, benaimee2000 is picking up another signal.

I know it's possible to pick up the Torresat signal by re-positioning the Telmicro dish and setting the box to recieve the signal, but once Torresat have issued cards and start scrambling the signal, it wont be possible to recieve the signal anymore. You can expect that to happen sooner rather than later, so I've heard !!

I wonder if they´ll manage to scramble the signal and issue cards before they too are closed down for good - go the Freesat route GBP49.99 for receiver from Argos & Euro55.00 for 1.15metre dish from Eurotele in Torrevieja. Use Telmicro´s cable and ask EBT to line up the dish and Bobs your Uncle - UK telly for under a hundred quid - and it´s yours forever. Stuff the Rebroadcasters!!

            Where are you located??
Surely you need a larger dish to pick up the UK freeview channels??

Is there a number to contact as I live in an apartment and think that Torresat have taken down our Telemicro mesh! Do you know where signal is coming from?

I´m in San Miguel - I don´t get all the channels, not BBC or ITV but then I´m not into mind-shrinking soaps, but I get 7 or 8 movie channels, BBC & Sky news, euronews, france24 etc. loads of shopping channels, music channels and radio stations.
It´s more than enough for me, after all, I can only watch one channel at a time..................!!

It is one of the previous owners of Telemicro with the backing of a Russian guy. They are going to broadcast free until the 31/12/08 and then there will be a reconnection free of between 300 to 400 euros. Torresats offer price of 250 is only going to last a short while longer so they are banking on people paying them three of four hundred euros for 20 odd channels rather than 500 euros to Torresat for a new dish and box but 65 channels.

                      tv

It clearly says on their info page:- '' more details in a few days'' or similar, so why not wait and see before jumping to conclusions or starting another 'rumour thread' ?

Why would anyone shell out 300, 400, 500 or whatever euros to these pirates when for a modest outlay you can get umpteen tv/radio channels, for free, straight from the satellite.
Plus, the quality from the sat is way ahead of what you'll get rebroadcast.
Think carefully before parting with your cash.

Not everyone has room for a 1.5, 1.9 or 2.4 metre dish to pick it up straight from the satelite. Also there seems to be a question mark whether you actually need planning permission for the larger dishes The Coast Rider reported on one town hall where the Mayor has decided he will not allow them and the ones which have been intalled must be removed. Also I would hardly call the price a "modest outlay" when it would take over five years to break even with what you would have paid Torresat and if anything goes wrong with the equipment you will have to shell out for someone to come and fix it. I have Torresat and the quality is excellent as good if not better than anthing I had with Sky back in the UK. I agree that people should think carefullybefore parting wih there cash though.

I couldn´t agree more - stuff the rebroadcasters they´re all a bunch of crooks anyway, Telmicro was set up with Russian Mafia money, now they´re obviously looking to get back in, €12million a year is a lot to lose, and taking it by direct debit is a lot easier than pushing drugs!!

I was on the verge of ringing torrestat from England and arranging them to install me tv in time for my christmas visit to Spain BUT your idea sounds interesting. Is this something you have had installed ? Am I right in thinking you are suggesting buying a freesat reciever from argos and bringing one over to spain? Is it ok to erect the 1.15metre dish to your property? What do you mean by ask EBT to line up your dish? What is EBT? Please feel free to e mail me on priesto@priesto.karoo.co.uk.
