  • Laughter, the best medicine

With all the doom and gloom around, I thought I would drop a few jokes in here. Hopefully you will find something to make you smile.

    Add your own as well.

John McCain and Barack Obama somehow ended up at the same barbershop.

As they sat there, each being worked on by a different barber, not a word was spoken. The barbers were even afraid to start a conversation fearing it would turn to politics.

As the barbers finished their shaves, the one who had McCain in his chair reached for the aftershave. McCain was quick to stop him saying, 'No thanks, my wife will smell that and think I've been in a wh***house.'

The second barber turned to Obama and said, 'How about: you, Sir?'

Obama replied, 'Go ahead pal! My wife doesn't know what the inside of a wh***house smells like!'

A blonde pushes her BMW into a gas station and
tells the mechanic it died. The mechanic takes a
look at it and after working on it for a few minutes
    has it idling smoothly.
    “What's the story?” she asks.
“Just crap in the carburetor,” he replies.
    “Really?”
She asks. “How often do I have to do that?”

An Australian ventriloquist visiting New Zealand walks into a Small village and sees a local sitting on his veranda patting his dog.

He figures he'll have a little fun, so he says to the Kiwi 'G'day, mind if I talk to your dog?'

Villager: ‘The dog doesn't talk, you stupid Aussie.'

Ventriloquist: 'Hello dog, how's it going mate?'

    Dog: 'Yeah, doin' all right.'

    Kiwi: (look of extreme shock)

Ventriloquist: 'Is this villager your owner?' (pointing at the Villager)

    Dog: 'Yep'

Ventriloquist: 'How does he treat you?'

Dog: 'Yeah, real good. He walks me twice a day, feeds me great food And takes me to the lake once a week to play.'

    Kiwi: (look of utter disbelief)

Ventriloquist: 'Mind if I talk to your horse?'

Kiwi: 'Uh, the horse doesn't talk either...I think.'

Ventriloquist: 'Hey horse, how's it going?'

    Horse: 'Cool'

    Kiwi: (absolutely dumbfounded)

Ventriloquist: 'Is this your owner?' (Pointing at the villager)

    Horse: 'Yep'

Ventriloquist: How does he treat you?

Horse: 'Pretty good, thanks for asking. He rides me regularly, Brushes me down often and keeps me in the shed to protect me from the Elements.'

    Kiwi: (total look of amazement)

Ventriloquist: 'Mind if I talk to your sheep?'

    Kiwi: (in a panic) 'The sheep's a f*****’ liar……'

20 years of sex in the dark, a wife finds out her husband always used a dildo on her. She says, ‘Explain the dildo fool!’ She screams
He says , ‘Explain the kids bitch’

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Couple in their nineties are both having problems remembering things. During a checkup, the doctor tells them that they're physically okay, but they might want to start writing things down to help them remember.
Later that night, while watching TV, the old man gets up from his chair. 'Want anything while I'm in the kitchen?' he asks.
'Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?'
    'Sure.'
'Don't you think you should write it down so you can remember it?' she asks.
    'No, I can remember it.'
'Well, I'd like some strawberries on top, too. Maybe you should write it down, so's not to forget it?'
He says, 'I can remember that. You want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries.'
'I'd also like whipped cream. I'm certain you'll forget that, write it down?' she asks.
Irritated, he says, 'I don't need to write it down, I can remember it! Ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream - I got it, for goodness sake!'
Then he toddles into the kitchen. After about: 20 minutes,
The old man returns from the kitchen and hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs. She stares at the plate for a moment.
    'Where's my toast?'

Heres a couple I received today

      BIG PEOPLE WORDS

A group of kindergartners were trying very hard to become accustomed to the first grade.

The biggest hurdle they faced was that the teacher insisted on NO baby talk!

You need to use 'Big People' words,' she was always reminding them.

She asked John what he had done over the weekend.

'I went to visit my Nana.'

"No, you went to visit your GRANDMOTHER. Use 'Big People' words!"

She then asked Mitchell what he had done.

      'I took a ride on a choo-choo.'

She said, "No, you took a ride on a TRAIN. You must remember to use 'Big People' words."

She then asked little Alex what he had done.

'I read a book,' he replied.

      'That's WONDERFUL!' the teacher said.

      "What book did you read?"

      (I love this.....)

Alex thought really hard about: it, then puffed out his chest with great pride, and said,

      'Winnie the SH*T.'

      -----------------------------------------------------

Two English businessmen in London were
sitting down for a break in their soon-to be new
store. As yet, the store wasn't ready, with only a
      few shelves set up.
One said to the other, 'I bet any minute now some
thick tourist is going to walk by, put his face to
the window and ask what we're selling.'
No sooner were the words out of his mouth when,
      sure enough,
a curious Scotsman walked to the window, had a
peek, and in a broad Scottish accent
asked 'What are you selling' here
One of the men replied sarcastically,
      'We're selling a**e-holes.'

Without skipping a beat, the Scotsman said,
'Your doing well ... Only two left!'

“Doc, I have a problem. My girlfriend is sleeping over this Friday, my ex-wife is sleeping over this Saturday and my wife is coming home Sunday. I need 3 Viagra pills to satisfy all 3 of them.”
      The doctor says
“You know 3 Viagra pills 3 nights in a row is pretty dangerous for a man of your age. I will give them to you on the condition that you return to my office on Monday so that I can check you out.”
      The man says
      “You have a deal Doc.”
Monday morning the man returns with his arm in a sling.
      The doctor says
      “What happened”?
      The man answered
      “Nobody Showed up!”

Chrisdee, not sure what site you mean, can you let me know please.

          Here is today's offering

My wife sat down on the couch next to me as I was flipping the channels.

          She asked, 'What's on TV?'

          I said, 'Dust.'

          And then the fight started...

          ================================================== ====================

My wife was hinting about what she wanted for our upcoming anniversary.

She said, 'I want something shiny that goes from 0 to 200 in about 3 seconds.'

I bought her some bathroom scales.

          And then the fight started...

          ================================================== ==================

When I got home last night, my wife demanded that I take her someplace expensive....

so, I took her to a petrol station...

          And then the fight started....

          ================================================== ==================

My wife and I were sitting at a table at my school reunion, and I kept staring at a drunken lady swigging her drink as
she sat alone at a nearby table.

My wife asked, 'Do you know her?'

'Yes,' I sighed, 'She's my old girlfriend...
I understand she took to drinking right after we split up those many years ago, and I hear she hasn't been sober since.'

'My God!' says my wife, 'who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?'

          And then the fight started...

          ================================================== =========

I rear-ended a car this morning.. So, there we were alongside the road and slowly the other driver got out of his car. You know
how sometimes you just get soooo stressed and little things just seem funny?

Well I couldn't believe it... he was a DWARF!!!

He stormed over to my car, looked up at me, and shouted, 'I AM NOT HAPPY!'

So, I looked down at him and said, 'Well then which one are you?'

          And then the fight started...

          ================================================== ==========================

          THE BROKEN LAWN MOWER

When our lawn mower broke and wouldn't run, my wife kept hinting to me that I should get it fixed.

But, somehow I always had something else to take care of first, the car, playing golf '

Always something more important to me.

Finally she thought of a clever way to make her point. When I arrived home one day, I found her seated in the tall grass,

busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors.

I watched silently for a short time and then went into the house. I was gone only a minute, and when I came out again I handed
her a toothbrush. I said, 'When you finish cutting the grass, you might as well sweep the driveway.'

The doctors say I will walk again, but I will always have a limp.

Moral to this story : Marriage is a relationship in which one person is always right, and the other is the husband.

Sorry Chris I havent got round to registering there yet but feel free to cut and paste

Ok, here is the offering for today

              --------------------------------------------------------------------

              Were you born in the 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's ?

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us and lived in houses made of asbestos.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese, raw egg products, loads of bacon and processed meat, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes or cervical cancer.

Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paints. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets or shoes, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.

As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags.
We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.
Take away food was limited to fish and chips, no pizza shops, McDonalds, KFC or Subway.
Even though all the shops closed at 6.00pm and didn't open on the weekends, somehow we didn't starve to death!
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank soft drinks with sugar in it, but we weren't overweight because......
              WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!!
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. We built tree houses and cubby houses and played in river beds with matchbox cars.

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, no video tape movies, no surround sound, no mobile phones, no personal computers, no Internet or Internet chat rooms..........WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no
              Lawsuits from these accidents.

              Only girls had pierced ears!
We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.
You could only buy Easter Eggs and Hot Cross Buns at Easter time.......no really! And in December, there was only one festive holiday....... CHRISTMAS ...... and everyone wished each other MERRY CHRISTMAS! and NOT.... HAPPY HOLIDAYS..... take it or leave it!
We were given BB guns and sling shots for our 10th birthdays,
We drank milk laced with Strontium 90 from cows that had eaten grass covered in nuclear fallout from the atomic testing at Maralinga in 1956.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just yelled for them!

Mum didn't have to go to work to help dad make ends meet!
RUGBY and CRICKET had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!! Getting into the team was based on MERIT AND NOT DUE TO BLACKMAIL, THREATS AND GUILT FROM THE PAST..... strange but true!

Our teachers used to belt us with big sticks and leather staps and bully's always ruled the playground at school.

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!
Our parents got married before they had children and didn't invent stupid names for their kids like "Kiora" and "Blade" and "Ridge" and "Vanilla"

This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!
The past 70 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned
HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!

              ---------------------------------------------------------

A man charges into a bank wearing a balaclava and
wielding a handgun. He shouts 'This is a raid -
everyone get on the floor!', and proceeds to empty
the cash drawers. As he runs towards the door with
the loot, a brave customer yanks off his balaclava.
The robber immediately shoots the customer in the head and shouts 'Did anybody else here see my face?'.

The robber notices another customer peering from behind
a counter and goes over and shoots him in the head also.
'Did anybody else see my face?' He shouts again, waving
his gun around. There is a silence for a few seconds
before a male voice is heard from a distant corner.
'I think this guy who just refused my loan application caught a glimpse...'

              -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Man driving down a road. a woman driving up the same road. As they pass each other.the man shouts out window 'cow!'.
The woman yells out window 'KNOBHEAD!'. The woman drives round the corner crashes into a huge cow and dies. If only women would listen....!

              -----------------------------------------------------------------------

And finally for today my favourite...

A man is in a bar and falling off his stool every couple of minutes. He is obviously drunk. So the bartender says to another man in the bar: "Why don't you be a good Samaritan and take him home."

The man takes the drunk out the door and to his car and he stumbles at least ten times. They drive along and the drunk points out his house to the man. He stops the car and the drunk stumbles up the steps to his house with the man.

The drunk's wife greets them at the door: "Why thank you for bringing him home for me, but where's his wheel chair?"
