DRIVING OVER - ANY IDEAS FOR STOP OFFS (WITH DOG)

Hi, me again, any ideas or suggestions of places to stop over night on the drive down from calais (with dog). would like to stop overnight firstly within an hour or so of the french side of tunnel. we are then staying with friends nr. poitierethe next night. any suggestions for route then on and somewhere to stop again!. Don't mind pretty routes!!

We drove down from Calais last year with our Border Collie and used hotels on the www.logis-de-france.fr/uk website. It worked very well and many even accept dogs in the dining room, try finding one in the UK that does that!!

I also saw that you were concerned about coming back on another post. Providing you visit a vet 24-48 hours before you return (check-in) for your dog to get a flea and tick treatment and get your passport stamped it works really well, we did it after visiting France last September and with the new style passport there is no bother at all. We booked a vet in advance by using the French Yellow Pages and faxing them to make an appointment. To find a vet use www.pagesjaunes.fr/pj.cgi

Last year we needed the form when going out to say the dog was fit and well but that all changed on 1st October and the form is no longer needed
