If you are not upsetting other nice threads on a number of sites you are moaning. Go back to Uk if the euro is upsetting you so much. It will help us all here.

You must be one of the ones who are either burying their heads in the sand or have enough money not to worry about it.

If you dont like the thread - dont read it and dont post on it. Some of us find it helps to discuss with other people in the same situation.

You cannot just have "nice" threads on a forum. That would be boring and no-one would come on them.

We are not moaning. We are informing!!. There is a difference. A lot of people are very worried!!!

Talking about the state of the pound against the euro is not moaning, there are a lot of people who are genuinely worried about it, and by reading the postings it helps them to know they are not alone and others are suffering too. So not discussing it won't help everybody on here just a few, you included. If you don't like the topic being discussed do not read it.

Since august 2007 my pension from uk has gone from 1125euros per month to 795 euros per month. Thats a drop of 330 euros per month. Thats not moaning thats a fact. Who in their wildest dreams could imagine such a drop. Together with the property market stalling makes life here a nightmare. I wish I could go back but I am not willing to lose all the money I have put into my home here.

I have been insulted big time on another forum for discussing this topic. I have been called a saddo, a manic depressive, a bipolar depressive and a moaner and groaner.

Horrible individual who has only just joined the forum. Looks like there may be one or two on here aswell who either have enough money not to be bothered or are not facing facts.

Either way they should not read the posts if they are not interested.

We are only swapping thoughts and stating facts. I thought this was the idea of a forum. Obviously some people only want to talk about nice sweet cuddly topics.

I concur Yllig. Often people are just living in some sort of dream world and will not face facts. The other forum seems haunted by people who throw insults at each other and post under 'corporate' identities. This crisis, which includes for us, the fall in the value of our incomes, is very serious indeed and will have countless knock on effects. Talking about it is one way of coping so you have my sympathies. I too have suffered with depression in the past and taken meds. to cope with it. I am back now to almost re commencing them unfortunately so you are not alone.
BTW - at 1.072 right now so let's keep fingers and everything else crossed, eh ?

Without in any wish wishing to attack you personally, it is quite true that nearly every one of your posts either on this and the other forum, refers to your own personal circumstances and tale of woe.

Over a prolonged period that is a bit wearisome to be honest, and although I certainly don't agree with the person who went way too far with his insults, I for one would enjoy your postings a lot more if they weren't quite so egocentric.

Assuming you are still reading this, I made that post because you made a big song and dance over what happened to you on the .co.uk forum. I'm trying to help you understand why. It has nothing to do with this thread at all, and neither did your original post. Please look at what I'm replying to and take a step back.

I'm sorry my remarks upset you but you really need to toughen up if what I wrote upset you. No doubt there are many people on here who don't share my opinion, but either way you should not feel you need to depart from any forum because someone disagrees with you or dislikes your style of writing.

Forums like this are one of the last bastions of free speech. Although I try to avoid giving offence and handing out needless abuse, I don't care if someone does that to me (and they do regularly), I'm not so fragile. And having free speech means you also have to accept the right to be offended.

There are a lot worse things than being insulted. I'm sure we're all from generations where we were brought up with that old maxim "sticks and stones...". Why being offended is now considered such a great crime I have no idea.

You should continue posting on here whether I like it or not. And you should continue posting on the other forum as well, Wizard. Just don't reply to people you feel slighted by.

I think anyone would when they were called the names that I was which were an attack on me as a person from someone who does not know me and who is a coward doing it anonymously when all I had done was put two posts on discussing the current situation without abusing anyone else or attacking their personal circumstances.

I have actually had a few private messages from people saying that it was out of order.

People are going too far. There is a difference between not agreeing with someone and free speech and insulting them. No-one wants to come onto a forum where that happens. I can do without any of it.

Drewth from the co.uk forum has gone from here and said he will never post again after the torrent of abuse he received from someone on the special interest section.

I really do not wish to carry on with this. You have made your point and I have made mine and the damage is done.

yllig, don`t stop posting, i for one find your comment`s insightful and informative.Something about anonimity that makes people think they can say things that they would never have the nerve to say in an ordinary group conversation , really they think they are being assertive but in real life these people are probably cowards, hiding behind the anonnimty that this cyberspace creates. That`s right don`t read the posts if they irritate you. treat others as you expect to be treated.
