  • The weather in Torrevieja

I've been here for a few years now and I do realise that the climate here is milder than elsewhere BUT I feel so cold of late and tonight in particular.
I had my biggest electric bill ever in mid December and since then I have used a lot of electricity on heating.

Can anyone remember it being so cold over such a long period, I'm sure I can't.
I am constantly bundled up with three layers of clothing and blankets in the evening. For a laugh, I had a look at some very dated estate agents' leaflets from back in the late 90's which promised better weather than this.

Any budding meteorologists out there to confirm or deny my thoughts on the subject ?

John50, it's the coldest we've been in 5 years and I'm sure I heard somewhere that some parts of Spain have had their coldest spell since 69, but just like the UK, 'things can only get better'.

I'm boiling hot now - just had a really hot bath. I said to my husband tonight that I haven't felt this cold in years, even the end of my nose was cold, I have known it to be as bad but I'm normally away this time of the year somewhere nice and hot so miss these cold months, shall make sure we are away this time next year, Brrrrrrr

We have seen some photos of snow outside our house here in El Galan from about 6 years ago. IT did not last long but it must have been colder than now.

I haven't heard one explanation from the global warming lobby about this winter's temperatures. No doubt they're desperately trying to come up with an answer.
It's not just Spain - the whole of the northern hemisphere is suffering.
Nothing wrong with that - it happens every so many years, but it goes to show that those prophets of doom are talking a load of bo****ks!

I must agree with you. I think most of us realise that the global warming myth is an excuse to put up prices and increase taxation. The world is going through a cycle as it has done many times in its millions of years and the ice caps are retreating. In a million years, if the planet is still here, they will probably be back down over the Atlantic again.

Anyway, I had great plans today that involved being outside. Pulled up my shutter, and guess what ? Yep..... it's raining. Sometimes I get so angry !

Duderoo, Better than hairy greens, just watch your touch with the putter, be delicate (as the actress said to the Bishop)

BTW Should the course not be closed with frozen greens??
