The idea is that people put references to the youtube film on their own websites so that we can convince people Alicante is a far better tourist destination than say .... Egypt

Do correct me if im wrong but isnt this website torrevieja.com, surely a promo film of this town would be more beneficial.
I for one don't really care how well alicante town is doing in the tourist zone and i would of thought that the people who are in buisness in torrevieja would rather have folk coming here and giving them trade and not alicante, so perhaps you could do a promo encouraging folk to come to torrevieja and spend there money rather than take it out of town.
This of course is just a personal view.

agree with you - basically this is a low cost option I took.
I have restaurants in Alicante, so obviously that is where I first went to ... a bit logical really. The starting into 'Alicante is more than an airport' counters what a lot of people who come to Benidorm and Torrevieja feel - Alicante is an airport and they forget it is a city of 400.000 people. Next week end I am in Fitur, the big MAdrid trade fair on Tourism, and certainly will make contact with Torrevieja Town Hall. Anything we can do to bring tourism to the Costa Blanca must be encourages, would say ....
