I am posting in the name of a relative of mine who used to send messages here just to update any of you he may have been in contact with.
John '50' fell ill at his home and was untended for several days. Eventually, I received a telephone call and flew down to Spain to help. He lives on a large housing estate in Orihuela Costa but had no immediate neighbours. Most of his original friends have moved away or sadly, passed on, and he became increasingly lonely and I don't think this helped him coupled with the dramatic loss in his income due to the pound's collapse.
He lay on his settee immobile and too weak and ill to move.
He had hoped to set up a community association with the few neighbours he had left but even these have now decided to return back to Britain.
Faced with living alone on as big and soulless an estate as ever I have seen, his health deteriorated. We now plan to get him home and back into a small community the likes of which he grew up in in the far west of Cornwall where I hope he will again thrive.
I have informed as many of his contacts as I have details for but knowing that he used this message system, I thought it appropriate to place this note here.
