Recently I was given a rented car from europcars in Torrevieja, firstly it was dirty and I was given the keys and told it's a 100 metres up the road, not off to a good start.
The car was to be returned on what was a national holiday and when I queried this I was told to take it to Alicante or Murcia airports where they had staff on duty.
When I mentioned the forty odd euros taxi fare back I was met with a shrug of the shoulders so I went back to my car insurers they agreed to fund another day.
On the day I returned the car I was informed that I was two hours late and would have to pay for another days hire 31.09 euros and as they had a 150.00 euro deposit there was little I could do so I said OK I'll just take the car for another day, no can do, I was told as the girl said the contract was closed, I asked to have a new contract, no can do I was told again.
I contacted head office band asked why I had paid for an extra days hire but couldn't get a car - - - - - guess what, no reply until my 3rd e-mail which said "it;s all in the contract" which was all in Spanish and the partwhich was to say when to return the car was blank- - - -ah well, that;s car hire

Yes Tim do stay away it happened to me in Scotland with the same company they told me I had not paid for a tank of petrol, this was 2 weeks after I had returned home
So use another company if you want good service

I use Aquacar and have been doing for the last 20 months, great service never any bother and as i'm a regular *don't own a car in spain* get a 10% discount as well but i have had a car for about 12 of them months. Always clean always understanding if i couldn't get it back that day "just bring it tomorrow"
