Our youngest, Jonathan Dandy was admitted in to St. Mary's Hospital on the Isle of Wight on xmas day after being diagnosed as having symptoms of a rare ailment called Kawasaki disease; this is V nasty and not a joke about motorbikes....Please punch in Kawaski disease on your search engine (we use Google).
He experienced large lymph swellings in the neck, rash, high fever, vomiting, redness swelling and soreness of his tongue and later, skin peeling on his hands and feet..Tess was away and I was scared S...less...Anyway, the paediatrician in La Mata wasn't overly concerned and diagnosed a viral infection...I treated him according to Dr's advice...His temperature went down; however upon arriving UK for family hols' his temperature sky-rocketed and following examination in A&E he was admitted immediately.
Tess stayed with him in the ward throughout the Christmas period...Part of the treatment included an Imunoglobulin transfusion system flooding of 1.5 litres over around a 16 hour period, together with heavy antibiotics and "300 Mgs of aspirin" a day,, If not caught in time, this thing can cause coronary problems BTime, both now and in later life. We consider ourselves fortunate...He now has to undergo periodical ECHO scans from
paediatric cardioligists for a year...As a consequence, we have changed prorities and have decided to place the freehold of 007Bar.com on the market.
