I came across a fanastic site today to win a Cortijo in Velez Rubio, Almeria.
The tickets cost 25 euros each or 5 for 100 euros. Have a look I hope my luck is in .The website is Win our Spanish Property - home page. The draw is being held on the 1st May this year.

I read about something along the same lines a month or so ago, they couldn't do it as it was gambling and had to be put it off because of the gaming laws??

Don't know, just remember reading a bit about it, why do you fancy your chances? Looks nice and if it's true might be worth a gamble, wouldn't fancy all that cleaning though, think I'll stick with what I've got. Also looks like it's in the middle of nowhere, I like a bit more around me than that.

Before I bought my tickets, I read the terms & conditions. Here are just a few of the terms & conditions. You can go onto their website to read the rest.
26 - The 'raffle' prize of San Blas will be transferred by the current owners to the Winner of the draw free from all mortgages and charges and at 'the promoters' expense and including all fees, charges and taxes.
27 - The 'raffle' winner shall ensure that the first Prize of 'Cortijo San Blas' is registered at the Spanish land registry in the winner’s name after completion at the notary. The current owners will advise and assist with this process.
28 - English is the only language in which a individual may submit their email entry.
29 - The process to determine the winner of the 'raffle' will begin the day of the San Blas party.
30 - These terms and conditions shall not create or be construed as creating any form of contract, joint venture or other agreement between any individual and 'the promoters'.
31 - The winner of the 'raffle' Prize will be the ticket holder whose details are randomly drawn before an audience of guests at a private party, members of the Press and in the presence of a Solicitor. There will also be a video of the draw made available within 24 hours hours of the draw.
32 - The draw by the solicitors and 'the promoters' is final and no correspondence will be entered into about the result of the 'raffle' following the determination of the Winner as described above.
33 - The Winner of the 'raffle' who may or may not be present will be required to forward a copy of their passport to the solicitors and 'the promoters' to prove their identity.
34 - If the Winner of the 'raffle' cannot be contacted by either 'the promoters' or the solicitors within 30 days of being notified of their status as the winner by e-mail, telephone and mail to the contact details submitted, 'The promoter' shall be entitled to award the Prize to the next runner up selected on the 'raffle' draw party day as above. 36 - The winner of the free to enter 'raffle' agrees to allow 'the promoters' to display his or her name on the Website in accordance with the Privacy Policy. The name, age and town of residence of the Winner will be posted on the Website for the purposes of announcing the Winner of the 'raffle' within 24 hours of the Winner being determined. Later a photo will be published on the website of the winner being handed the keys to San Blas.
37 - 'The promoters' makes no representation or warranty as to the Valuation of the Prize, its structural or cosmetic condition or its ability to be sold. Entrants should make and rely on their own enquiries and legal advice about the Prize before accepting it.
39 - 'The promoters' accept no liability for errors or omissions contained within the Prize details, description or specification or any other part of the Website. It is the responsibility of each purchaser (and in particular the Winner) to satisfy him/herself as to the accuracy of any such details and/or any content of this website.

Why would they want to call the draw off? I read the webiste and they are looking to go back to the UK. Anyway it says if they do not sell the tickets required the money which has been raised from ticket sales will go to the person drawn on the day.

You're not actually buying a raffle ticket, you are buying a party ticket but with that party ticket you receive a free prize draw ticket (for the house).
All sounds a bit fishy to me. Don't like the sound either that if they do not sell the required amount of tickets the winner only gets the money they've taken in.

Why would they want to call the draw off? I read the webiste and they are looking to go back to the UK. Anyway it says if they do not sell the tickets required the money which has been raised from ticket sales will go to the person drawn on the day.

Just been talking to my husband about this raffle and he says it was on the radio, they have so far sold 1000 party tickets, so looks like it's going ahead and somebody maybe the proud owner of a beautiful house/s.

I looked at their website and read it completely. The guys have it all sorted with a laywer. The draw will be televised and the recording of the draw will be on the website, even so if you wish to be present at the draw party you can go and watch. You can swap your draw ticket for accomendation in the holiday apartments prior to the 1st May so you are still not losing out.
I thought buy myself a ticket to see if my luck will be in.
