Carrefour

Does anyone know if Carrefour have English speaking staff. We are planning to come over in late April to order furniture/electrical goods.
Also is it possible to order 3 months in advance - our apartment will not be completed until the end of July?

Wow, how many points can one make about such a simple question??

Carrefour do not have appointed English speakers - they did a few years ago when there were fewer of us (!) - but many of their staff speak some English. In any case, it's a supermarket so you can usually see what you want.

Why are you looking to buy furniture from Carrefour when there are MUCH better offers elsewhere?

Why do you think that your home will be ready when somebody says it is?

I think that you may be much better to wait until you are ready or if you do buy now, go to specialist shops who are used to dealing with such requests.

I don't think you will be able to order in advance at Carrefore, but the specailist Furniture shopa are used to this . We ordered months in advance, leaving a deposit. Then we faxed at a later stage with an approx date. Went out to Spain , confirmed the date, paid the balance and took delivery.

Carrefour is "ok!" for elctrical goods - unless they break down then it is an absolute NIGHTMARE to get them exchanged or repaired.

As for furniture - go to a furniture shop.

We are not exclusively looking at Carrefour -it's just one of the places we have on our list. We visited some furniture stores when we were last out in November last year but missed Carrefour as we ran out of time. Thanks for your advice.

p.s. Our apartment build was well ahead of schedule in November. No reason to think it should be running late.
