Removal companaies

Hi all,

We are moving from London to near Torrevieja in July, can anyone recommend a good reliable removal company that has reasonable rates, also an insurance company to insure our thing.

We would really appreciate any advice.

Yes, I can recommend Digby's, they are a professional removals company based in Basildon in Essex. They moved us in 2002 and did an excellent job. They have one lorry that is pretty much permanently on the move from the UK to France and Spain and they know the Costa Blanca very well. Their contact details are as follows;

Will they move odd bits and pieces? I have a concrete water feature that I want to get from Kent to Los Dolses - not very big, but too heavy to lift into the overhead lockers on an Easyjet flight!

I don't know Chris, give 'em a ring, they're nice people, they should be able to help you if you're not in too much of a hurry, if they have a load thats not quite full, maybe they can bring it for you.

Thanks Andy I will give them a call tomorrow, did you get insurance separately or with them, I also wanted to ship irreplacable items that are only probably worth something to me but would hate for them not to arrive, would they be ok.

I too have just used Digby's. They shipped a lot of my bits and pieces (not furniture) had about 20 boxes in all. Everything was as I had packed it, not one thing was damaged. They also insure your goods. After some of the horror stories I have heard about, they are definitely worth using.

Yes Chris, they were in the middle of the 5 quotes I got and as Cinuelica says, all good firms will insure your goods as part of your contract with them. We had one small problem, a coffee table of ours had been dropped off with someone else, but they went to get it and we had it the next day. They really were the right people to choose, cos when you're bringing everything you own, you need to get it right.
