  • 2 Questions about Telefonica !

    1. I use Europa, to mainly ring my children back in the UK, and am also on the Telefonica ' Duo ' package as part of their Internet deal.
To get out of Europa to get the benefit of Free 96 and internal Spanish numbers, I used to dial 1077 first to get on to the free Telefonica line - but this doesn't work now - anyone know if the number has changed ?

    2. I was thinking of paying the extra €1 to get the speed upgrade on ADSL from 3mb to 6 mb - but am worried, knowing Telefonica's ways that this might involve a hike in my usual monthly bill, normally about €70 all-in.
Should I be worried, or have others got the upgrade without any notable rise in their monthly sum ?

    Many thanks in advance.

I do not know about the first part of your question but I do have the 1 euro upgrade to 6mb and there is no catch. I pay just over 70 euros all in and I know I get the full 6mb as I regularly check the speed at speedtest.com.

Why are you paying 70 euros per month my total bill for internet 25 euros for 1/2 meg as i don't download anything big and phones 10 euros so around 35 euros that is for 2 mobiles and using skype which is free skype to skype calls I have long talks (around 45 mins) with my sister in America.
Don't let Telefonica rip you off

I would like to pay less but telefonica gives me 6mb, which I find very useful, plus free calls within Spain.
Also like many others I use skype for international calls.
Many of my friends who have changed to cheaper providers have run into problems when something has gone wrong, in that telefonica and the other provider each blame one another for the problem which makes a quick resolution difficult.I have decided to stick with "the devil I know"

I agree telefonica take some stick but there broadband is 6.1 mbs and very reliable. Changing to anyone else who may be a little, cheaper can cause problems as many have found out!!

Tell me please - when you upgradrd to the 6mb service, how much extra did your billl go up monthly ?
              Hopefully - only the promised €1 + I.V.A. ?

I agree about sticking with the devil you now - at least you have the peace-of-mind of back-up etc you don't get with other cheaper companies - given that it's nearly always Telefonica who lease the lines I believe...
