Can anyone tell me if the guy I have had around to upgrade my system to digital is telling me the truth.
We were on the old mesh system prior to last September and as we are only over for holidays it was December before we could upgrade to digital.
He did fit us in for an upgrade just before Xmas and it was really at short notice. After he did the upgrade, about 9 am, we noticed that some channels kept going to back and white so he changed the digi box. That didn't really improve anything, but as we were grateful that he managed to fit us in at all, we said that we would leave it like that until we were over next. He did say when he first arrived that the aerial might be a problem.
We called him back last week. He never looked at anything and has now told us that it is probably our tele that has the fault and would bring a portable with him next time to prove it.
The picture goes really bad about 3.00 pm and we can't listen to any of the radio channels. Even the sound on BBC/ITV is bad if there is any type of music. It always seems to be afternoon/early evening when it is at it's worst, then late at night it improves again.
I feel it's the reception/aerial that has the problem, but I am certainly no TV engineer. Can anyone give any advice. Sheila
