British Telecom in Spain ?

Had a cold call on the phone this morning, from a gent claiming to represent B.T. - I quizzed him about this, as I've heard some stories about people purporting to represent B.T. here in Spain - he claimed he was ' legal and genuine ' - the office is apparently based in San Miguel.
He was telling me about a very good deal which would save me considerably on ADSL, Free phone calls In Spain + a package which would give me 400 mins. of free calls to the UK every month...!

I replied - ' What's the catch ? '.
He said ' There isn't '.

He wants to come to my house on Monday to discuss further,

Should I be wary here ?!
Anyone else had this experience, or who can confirm whether or not B.T. is actually officially operating in our area ?

bt in spain

hi bt are in spain think head office is in madrid but they do have other offices around spain

in san migual they are based in the post room, they are very nice people, if you look you will see an earlier posting by me , re a problem i had "still have" on a bt mobile phone i have here in spain,

mine may be a one off problem.

but bt are here in spain and do great deals on services,

if you are still in doubt i am sure they will be happy for you to visit them at there office

The BT rep. Terry came round today as agreed last week lovely guy, who obviously knows what he's talking about, and doesn't try to use bull-poo or pressure to sell.
It is indeed 100% GENUINE - but they only advertise in the national press rather than the English freebies around here etc
The deal is indeed a very good one, and would save me mucho €'s monthly, especially on my regular calls to England with Europa.
They do all the necessary calling and contacts to put thru the change-over which takes 2 weeks - have full support incl. installation of new router, connections etc
I can't wait - he will be calling me as soon as BT have access to the 6mb ADSL upgrade - then I'll make the switch.
I won't really be sorry to move on from Telefonica.....
I've just got into ' torrents ' and he agreed he wouldn't cahnge yet until BT can offer 6mb speed.

Which shoulldn't be too long.

Well - since I haven't yet switched from Telef. for reasons given above -yes - I still have my Telef. line - but I can't answer the 2nd question - yet - obviously.
But as I understand it - BT take over evrything from Telef.
