Bus from Airport (old chestnut)

I realise that this is a topic frequently covered here but maybe there is more up-to-date information in the heads of your knowledgeable website users.

I’m hoping to get from Alicante airport to Torrevieja for less than £40 and shall be travelling probably by bus on 29-July with an 8-year-old. The best information I have is.

Get the C-6 Busline at bus stop number 30 at Alicante airport goes into Alicante town - (out of the arrival building, cross first street, then go left up the ramp).
Then get the Costa Azul Bus to Torrevieja or Cartagena from Alicante Bus Station.

A couple of questions

Does the C-6 Bus leave you at the same bus station whence the Costa Azul bus departs?

From what platforms do the Cartagena/Torrevieja buses depart?
Are the afternoon buses usually full? ie will we have to fight our way on board for a seat.

How much is the fare for adult and child?

Is there any movement on a bus link from Alicante airport to Torrevieja?

40 sterling would get you an airport run to Torrevieja, people are prepared to bargain in the times that are in it. I know someone reliable that would collect you. I know there are going to be a load of replies from people going on about them not being insured because they have vested interests themselves or are just taking the high moral ground. I'm replying because I know what it would be like to be travelling on a bus and hanging around waiting in the heat with an 8 year old. Post your email address if you want me to forward details.

Your best option is to look at Low Cost Alicante And Murcia Airport Transfers To All Locations within The Costa Blanca they do legal pickups at reasonable prices, we used to do the odd pick up but the risks are too great for us to take
as for the bus I can't tell you about the C6 can only assume it goes into the bus station, but the Alicante- Torrevieja - Cartegena bus leaves the main bus station approx every hour on the hour and costs 3.60 per adult half price for children to Torreveija,
(my sister catches it everytime she comes to see me)

I am also interested in the C bus which drops off you Alicanti.
But am told this is not at the bus station and you must walk to the terminus.

Where? at which stop? do you get of the bus and where? is the main bus station in relation to the drop of point .

I was also informed this can be easily missed if you do not know in which direction or road to take.

So rather than recommending a legal form of transport at 50 euro guaranteed, you would rather recommend they negotiate with a taxi tout to carry a child passenger.
Be nice and do the right thing or keep quiet and that way people with *vested interest or high moral grounds* would'nt need to reply !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOu could look at ALSA - Hacemos tu viaje ms fcil for buses I don't know about the C6 or the stops as the site does'nt give you every stop but you may be lucky and find the info you want

I have caught the bus many times from Alicante to Torrevieja.The last time i caught it,it cost me about €3.50.Certainly a lot cheaper than a cab!!The bus from Alicante is a bit less i think?Though not a hundred per cent certain ok?

As far as I know there is only one bus station in Alicante, right in the centre near Cortes Ingles.

I have just got back from torrevieja and got the bus to the airport on sat for the first time. We left torrevieja bus station at around 1300. The bus took around an hour to get to alicante bus garage and the fare was 3.64 each. When we changed to the c6 bus the stop was just around the corner from the bus garage and was clearly marked. We waited around 25 mins for the bus, the fare to the aiport was 1.25 each and took around 10 mins. The whole thing took just under 3 hours and that included a 15 min walk to the bus station in torrevieja but as only cost under 10 euro we felt was worth doing.
