  • Iberdrola Monopoly and Other providers

I have recently found out about the deadline of June 31 to choose a new
electrical provider or be stuck with Iberdrola on an increased tarrif.

Does anyone know the different options available to residents here in
    Orihuela Costa?

Have a look at the other Torrevieja forum, it's all on there,

If you look at the torrevieja.co.uk site and do a search for Iberdrola and Switching Suppliers you will find the translation of the letter sent out with the other companies names and numbers. If you do a search for Iberdrola you will see many other comments. Takes a while to scroll through them but you may find something you are looking for.
You can visit the Masters electrical store in Pilar and freeze the price of your electricity so you don't get the 5% increase every month for the next 5-6 months but that ties you into Iberdrola for the next year, this is what we have done and we are going to wait and see what happens and until we know more about the other electrical companies.

          Thanks for the link.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that these increases of 5% per month only apply to commercial premises or private premises who use a great deal of electric. Anyone better informed?
          Regards, Jeff.

For your own curiousity, visit the Masters electrical shop and speak with Daniel, he speaks excellent English. Lots of people I know have been over there and have signed up for the frozen price. We are just ordinary households ??
