When Telemicro were closed down I cancelled my direct debit with the bank. However I now hear that people are getting the same channels as before abd are not subscribing to anyone. My dish has been removed by another company who used the pole to install a neighbours satellite dish and left it lying on the communal roof. If I manage to get another pole installed and the mesh repositioned would I still be able to get the english channels as before? If so who would do this for me? I am trying to find the most economical way to obtain english channels as I only use my apartment as a holiday home. I would appreciate anyones advice on this.

We cancelled our payment to Telmicro through the bank in March, had a satellite dish installed and are still receiving the Telmicro signal. They keep saying its going to be encryped but so far it hasn't been.

Thanks for your reply. When you said you had a satellite dish installed does this mean that your mesh was of no use to you? Who did you use to install your satellite dish as when enquiring with various companies I felt it was really expensive due to the fact that I am only using the apartment for holidays. I have heard something about pay as you view but don't know much about this as this sounds like something I would be very interested in.

one or two of the mesh system companies are now using satellite dishes as their "aerial" and not the older meshs aerials.
some say they need to use them due to new systems they are using to help clean up pictures and receitpion..others claim that their signals are coming directly from the satellites, in a vain attempt to make people thkm that they are not rebroadcasting but infact getting the signals direct from the satellite!

one or two rebroadcasters are still using free unencypted signals...and are therefore rapidly trying to change this as they will be loosing monthly subscr by having people access their signals for free!!

i am not to sure which rebroadcasters are offering a pay to view service..i am sur many will not as they would ideally like to keep their yearly money flow and not just for the summer 2 months of the year!

if you do go the satellite dish route, and get the signals direct from t he satellite then all you need is a lump sum payment for the supply and installation of a dish....the dish size required for bbc and itv will be anything fro 1.45m to 2.4m...then you can receive all the channels like bbc and itv and many many more for free without any monthly payments...

in fact many of the channels on rebroadcsater systems (like true movies, horror, bliss,) can all be received on an 80 - 90cm dish for free...and you can also access all the bbc sports interactive features so for example you can curently select one of 4 wimbledon matches...!

We were having problems with the telly breaking up, normally when you were in the middle of something and quite often at weekends you used to loose certain channels which I liked, so having lost one yearly payment of 200 euros or something like that, we had enough and decided to bite the bullet and go for the dish, it is a big outlay but we do enjoy our television, we live here permanently so to us it's money well spent. The new company that is on the old Telmicro system is Simulsat CostaBlanca
They have been broadcasting since October last year it is free at the moment but they say they will issue new cards and once this done they will scramble all the channels it will be 19.90 euros per month for 36 channels
