Hi
Would anyone be kind enough to let me know what the local taxis are like in the Torrevieja area.

Do they pick up at local addresses as here in the UK.?

Do the drivers speak enough English to understand we Brits?

I ask these questions in the knowledge that I should, and will make the effort to learn the language as I will be in their country and not the other way round.

Finally do you consider the taxi fares reasonable?

Lots of questions on one post, however I would appreciate any comments.

i ordered a taxi thru the bar staff at the witlow abbey when we were there in febuary, waited and waited and waited, dont know if it has turned up yet because we had to walk it in the end!!! LOL

Local Taxis

We used Radio Taxi (Tel 966 761 08 and had no difficulty with the operator. We actually chose to walk to a local landmark (the Consum) and the taxi was there in less than a couple of minutes.

The taxi we picked up in Torreveija had a meter but I am not sure that Radio Taxi did, in any event each of the taxi's we took were within one euro of each other in price. (12 euro from La Florida to Torrevieaja town centre).

I noticed all the taxis lined up by the daily market.
Is this because of the road works in Ramon Gallud, or is this another taxi rank??
