I don't understand why anybody would want to pay a fortune for a petshop pet, when we've been told so many times they are more likely to have medical problems as well as behavoural problems.

I have a friend in the UK who bought 2 pedigree kittens from a breeder. One died within months and the other is so alooof, as if she knows she cost a fortune, she doesn't like to be handled.

There are so many dogs and cats in shelters in need of homes, you don't pay a set fee for them, although the charities rely on donations.
