electric light fittings

i am completing in early july and the info from this forum has been invaluable.another question;is it ok to bring light fittings from the uk?can they be fitted without modification?we have several fittings we dont want to part with.any advice would be welcome.

The light fittings will be fine providing you can hang them from the hooks as they do in Spain - the usual UK method of drilling and using a wood batten or joist to support them doesn't work very well here. Also I presume they will be bayonet fitting. Whilst you can get bayonet lamps they are few and far between as the norm is screw.

I bought all of my light fittings in Spain - there are many stores that sell them and each hold a fairly wide variety, especially stores like Hnos Garcia. Additionally, if you buy from these stores, delivery and fitting is part of the service (although you may have to wait a few days to be scheduled in).

I brought two bedside lamps from the UK, and now have to bring bayonet bulbs out to Spain with me when required as I simply can't find anywhere to buy them in Spain.
