Animals being flown to Spain

This is a quote from Monarch Airlines regarding pets:
"
Monarch Scheduled are happy to carry pets on our flights, under the current Pets Passport Scheme as authorised by the DEFRA.

Please note:

Carriage is subject to availability and a charge will be made for each pet carried. A maximum of 4 animals will be permitted on each flight
Pets can be carried from all Monarch Scheduled UK departure airports, but for the time being can only be returned via London Gatwick. (Gatwick is the only point currently available within the Monarch Scheduled UK network which has an Animal Reception Centre).
Animals are carried in the hold of the aircraft. No animals are permitted in the passenger cabin or to be carried as excess luggage. "

Hope this helps

Terry

Thanks for all your replies. The cats have full pet passports ready for the move. I have got the number for Monarch so I'll give them a call to get a price. Thanks everyone for your help. Sheila

British Airways was very cheap for Gatwick to Alicante - about 45 quid for my cat. Would have been less for a smaller cat. Presumably they also cover the route you need to use.

Thanks for that, I'll try BA as well. Sheila
