We are planning to move permanently to Cabo Roig(Orihuella Costa). I have been reading a lot about Health Care and importance of having Private Health Care. Can anyone advise a reputable company (Spain or in the U.K) that provides a good quality service. Any idea of costs would also be useful - Thanks

also if you have both worked over the preceeding 2 years and paid NI Contributions you are entitled to transfer over contributions for up to 2 years before you need private healthcare if you or your partner are under retirement age

What are the laws concerning Americans? We would both be 65 years old.
Would we be elegiable for health care since we are not part of the EU?

Where would I go to find this information?

We are also looking to buy in Torrevieja. Is there any areas we should
avoid?

If you are American citizens check with your US Health Dept to see if they have a recriprocal agreement to provide healthcare
Though I doubt it very much but worth a try, as in America you can either pay as you go or pay into a health scheme Sanitas is the big provider of private healthcare in Spain and lots of ex pats are covered by them
