Due to visit for the first time!

Hi all,

I am due to visit Torrevieja for the first time W/C 5th October.

Are there lots of things to do?
Are any water parks nearby still open?

I am fare skinned so chose October to miss the peak of the sun. Can anyone advise if I was correct?
