Hi I am looking for help quickly! I posted a thread recently looking for a car and thanks for your replies, I am going out next week and am hoping to buy a car, I had in mind a medium sized estate type car or a citroen berlingo van type car and just checked with linea directa about insurance today, I had been told I would get insurance for about E300, however for a Peugeot Partner 1900cc car the insurance is E560, for a Ford Focus 1600cc the cost is 470, I am shocked at the high cost and am now rethinking my decision to buy, I have a full no claims bonus and have a full licence for well over 20 years. Has anyone any ideas about where to go for insurance or should I look at a much smaller car.

First: If you get a better quote from another company, like for like of course, Linea Directa will usually match it.
Second: I had my car stolen a week ago, found the next day and a write off. Linea Directa have been brilliant, even speaking on the phone to non English speakers on my behalf when I needed help with all the formalities. Yesterday, day 6, after I had faxed them the documents from the scrap yard about officially scrapping the car, they phoned me with an offer which I accepted and which they say will be in my bank account next week.
Some times it's worth paying a little more for when things go wrong.

It is'nt a case of more expensive,or even how many years no claims you has, because it is the car which is insured not you.
So all insurance in Spain is more expensive than the UK as if you can't drive your car it has to be lifted on a flat bed and taken to your chosen Garage, so included in the price is this service, unlike the UK when you pay separately for breakdown cover
I would look for a smaller car if you only want a run around for when you are here in Spain will turn out cheaper fro you

Not true. The car I had stolen was 3rd party, fire and theft, I could have had just 3rd party, however 3rd P/F/T is not a lot cheaper than fully comp.Originalmente publicado por GAL Ver MensajeSorry to say Suzi there is no 3rd party insurance in Spain you have to pay the full wack
Some companies will only do fully comp, check around.
