Traveliing to Torrevieja from UK

Could somebody give us the full route they used to get from UK to Torrevieja. We would like really to do it in a day. If you could give us a detailed way of going and the quickest. Road names etc used. This would be a great help as we are hoping to drive over early next year when our apartment is ready.

Email me with your start point and I will send you the directions according to autoroute. I think you are being a bit optimistic trying to do the journey in 1 day as it is 1959 kilometers from Dover.

The quickest way is to stick to motorways all the way - going down to the right of Paris - Reims, Dijon, Lyon, Montpellier, Perpingnan and then down the coast in Spain. This is about 1200 miles.
We did it in 2 days with one overnight stop. I've heard of people doing it in 16-19 hours but you will need at least two drivers and a comfortable car.
Incidently, the above route is practically all toll motorways - allow 80 euros in France and about the same in Spain.

UK to Torre

We used the AA website www.theaa.com. The route was the same as explained above but they give you very detailed directions. We only went wrong once in the whole journey from Middlesbrough and that was our fault - because the directions are very clear, we knew at once and were able to get back on track. We did the trip with one overnight stop and wouldn't recommend doing it in one go.

Driving from UK to Torrevieja

Where did you get the boat from and where did you stop for the night. Thanks for all the rest of the help. The AA map shows you going on the CV-905 in spain not the motorway AP=7.

We used the AA route planner, Crossing at Dover/Calais and stayed overnight at the motel at Aire du Village Catalan. You could probably find something nicer off the motorway but we didn't want to waste time. We used the motorway in Spain to get to Torre.

Hi Dot,

I have done many trips back to the Yorkshire region, I've collected and delivered peoples goods back to the UK and visa versa all within 20 hours, we always use two drivers and it is a killer, so unless you have a death wish don't try doing it in a single day, unless it's for business then it's just not worth the risk.
