  • Tabarca day trips

    Hi all,

wondering if you can give me info on the best way to organise a day trip to Tabarca? Has anyone been?

Also, are there any other good day trips that would be worthwhile doing?

    Any info is gratefully received!

    All the best
    Michael

I went years ago, I got a boat from Torrevieja. Its just a pile of dirt with a few restaurants. Stuck there for hours, after lunch just sat in the sea to keep cool. Got too much sun on way back and spent the rest of the week out of the sun. Maybe improved now !

    Regards

    John

If you want a shorter trip you can get the boat from Santa Pola as that is nearer to the Islands.

Carefull when you catch the boat from Torrevieja marina. On the leaflets and on the marina booking office sign it says the boat leaves Tabarca at 18.00 h. Me and my wife fell asleep on the beach(well, theres not much else to do there) and woke up at 16.30 and the boat had gone.Perhaps we're both stupid but we didn't here the times had changed. We had to wait till 18.15 to catch the last boat off the island back to Santa Pola then a taxi back to Torrevieja

anyone got any positive feedback about tabarca? It seems that there are quite a few problems with going over!

            Hi
We went last year, there isn't much to do but the boat trip is good, with an hour or so to have lunch and a walk, you can sunbathe but you can do that anywhere!
If you go from Santa Pola you can park easily and there are lots of boats that go at all times so you can come back when you like.
            Enjoy

We haven't been there yet but my son agrees with Beastess a boat from Santa Pola, a picnic and the best snorkelling for miles. Other days out we enjoy are mud bathing and Tapas at Lo Pagan, and a trip to Guadalest and the nearby waterfalls

                    Tabarca Trip

I took the family over last August and we enjoyed it. We took the crossing from Santa Pola and I remeber it was a couple of euros per person cheaper than from Torrevieja and there were more frequent crossings. We also had a lovely meal just at the little square in the town and although it was a bit more expensive we did enjoy the food.

There is no real beach to speak of but the swimming was good. There are a couple of exhibitions you can spend some time in away from the sun but we did not bother last time.
