House / Contents Insurance

Can anyone out there give me some idea of what we would expect to pay for house and contents insurance and the best company to go with. Thanks

A two bedroom apartment (depending on build area) is approx 200 euros give or take. I would always use a spanish company as they always seem a lot cheaper. Personally i am with mapfre

we use our bank La Caixa - just renewed @ 234,78 euros for 3 bed house! - have heard mapre are good though but couldn't find there office!

If you are over 50 try SAGA they have agents on the Costas if you need to claim. Everything is done from the UK and the policy ect. is in English. Plus I found in my case it was quite a lot cheaper than Mapfre who I was with last year. Don't forget if you are on a Community you will be paying for your buildings insurance with your fees so all you need is contents insurance.

Hi all thanks for all the response to my question but I am concerned Roger H & Simmy. I have just phoned both AXA and Saga and they both have told me that they do not cover houses out of the Uk. I currently have house and contents with AXA and they still will not cover our house.
Are yu sure you are coverd?

Absolutely. We are covered, but from the AXA Office in Torrevieja. Go up the road on the Right hand side of the Church, it's on the left.

As far as I am aware the community buildings insurance does not cover the individual properties - mor the pool (if one) and outbuildinsg.

SAGA do overseas property I obtained it in England and paid in Sterling. Asked for their overseas department
