  • N.I.E. Help Please??

Hi everyone. I am told that a trip to Alicante, albeit very time consuming, is the quickest and cheapest way to obtain my N.I E. Can anyone give me any info with regard to where the office is in Alicante, what the office is called, and the cost involved doing it this way?

    Thanks.
    Merlin :P

    Hi Merlin,

If you go to Alicante you have to be there at 7 in the morning. It is the office for foreign affairs. Sorry, but i don't know how the street is called but it is in the south of Alicante in an industrial area.
We offer the service to accompany and request for the N.I.E. At the same day you can go home with your N.I.E.-number.
If you are interestet call 650 795 485 (Peter).

        go early

        Agree with go early
        take a folding chair.
there is a coffee shop right beside it with a (busy) loo and breakfast etc.
Serious about the chair We queued from 6am and there were about 150 people in th equeue before us.
Most were for work permits as we got numbers 16 and 17 for NIE.
% minutes at teh desk and we were away.
Went to Cartrefour which is a decent walk away picked up a few things and then called back at 10 30 for our numbers.
Time consumnmg but not that bad if you plan.

The Foreigners Office in Alicante is in Calle de la Ebanisteria.

Use this link and you can zoom in or out to see where it is in relation to everything else.
Just to let you know, there is no access from the motorway, so you need to go via the smaller back roads.

              It's open in Torrevieja already
No queueing opens at 8-30 be there for 8
they process your forms and send them to alicante

about a 6 week wait and then you have to go again to pick up in person

Do you know the address of the office in Torre? How do you make an appointment or do you just turn up and wait?

doctemp@gmail.com and I'll talk you through it. For free! The authorities do not charge for issuing NIE numbers.

                      NIE

                      Hi

You can also apply for NIE at a Spanish Consulate in the UK. They will send it off to Spain for you and it gets sent back to your UK address, so saves waiting. We're about to try this shortly in Edinburgh so will see how it goes...

The option of simply sending the form to the Spanish consulate and getting it posted back to the UK address sounds good. Has anyone got any experience of doing this? Does it work? How much does it cost?

I have seen a reply to a post on another website tonight saying that someone applied for their NIE from the Spanish consulate in the UK in March and they are still waiting!!!
