I have been holidaying in the LaMata area for the last 10 years with my growing family & have always had a great time, loved the place and always felt at home there. However that all changed for me last sunday on La Mata beach at approx 3pm when someone stole my camera & camcorder. I was lying face down on the beach enjoying the sunshine whilst my husband had taken my three young children for a walk further down the beach. It was a rare 10 mins of peace but just as I turned over I seen a man stumble just where my beach bag was. I immediately got suspicious and jumped up and checked our things & seen that my video bag was missing. However I wasnt 100% sure that my husband had taken it with him so I didnt say anything. I will regret that in hindsight for the rest of my life. He walked off slowly and kept looking back at me expecting me to go after him but I was terrified. I am sick to the core that I didnt and keep torturing myself over it. It is not so much the items but the lovely family memories that I have lost. Only an hour earlier I had got some lovely snaps of our girls in their easter dresses eating their easter eggs on the beach. I have lost over a years worth of camcorder memories as stupidly that is how long ago I backed it up. It ruined the last four days of our holiday and I spent hours walking the streets of LaMata in the hope of seeing him again and offering money for my stuff. I am a nervous wreck since we came back and cant stop crying. I would appeal to anyone who might be offered these items or see them in a car boot sale or anywhere at all to contact me. I would dearly love to get them back. The digital camera was a very small light pink Olumpus Style Verve u-mini digital and as the clasp that held the battery compartment closed was broke it was held together with sellotape. The camcorder was a sony handycam DCR-SR35E. They were in a cheap camera bag (bought for €5 in the market a coupld of years ago) together with a small sum of money, a set of keys with a pink minnie mouse keyring and a set of silver "hello kitty" earings belonging to my six year old. I would dearly love to get even just the memory cards back. Any information at all would be gratefully received. Thanks
