Pre Paid cash cards

My wife and I are staying in La Florida for three months from late August and we are considering using the CaxtonFx pre paid Mastercard as a method of bringing enough cash to keep us through this period. Caxton make no charge for making ATM withdrawals but can anyone tell me how much the banks charge for this service? or possibly have a better idea of how to deal with the problem of moving cash witout carrying large sums or using travellers cheques. Thank you.

Open a Nationwide Flex Account, and use their debit card to draw up to 300 euros a day from ATM's with no charge. You also get a business rate of exchange rahter than tourist rates. If it's a joint account, you can each draw up to 300 a day. Just make sure you have nough funds in the Nationwide acount to cover your withdrawals.

Thanks for that Dorsetlad, do you know if the spanish bank will make charge, I noticed a branch of the Halifax last time I was out there.

We used the card in lot's of different bank's ATM's, and never got charged.

You also get the correct bank rate with flex not tourist rate. Don't bother with travellers cheques as they are practicaly useless here
